Square Zeros Show Listings, Weds–Sat January 28–31

Square Zeros Show Listings, Wednesday–Saturday, January 28–31

Best Behavior killed it last week. Don't mess it up and miss a good one this weekend.

Hey guys, look! We all survived Juno.
Let's celebrate with some awesome shows. Conveniently, here they are...

[[WEDNESDAY, January 28:]]

Stonehenge Parnhashnakovsky (Chris Carr, SZ #22) always leaves us completely jaw-dropped, incredulous. If you haven't seen him yet, you're wrong. But don't be too worried, your chance to change that is tonight as he continues presenting 12 Days of Art 2015: Club Going Up on a Wednesday w/ Lilly Wolf, Darja Schabad, Broke MC, Kim Fatale at Hail Hail Bar, 9pm LINK

We have a new interview coming up with the smart and hysterical dudes of Sun Voyager on Thursday. Do your homework: check them out tonight w/ Sky Picnic, Black Flamingos, Exiles at Rock Shop, 8pm, $10 LINK

Sun Voyager

[[THURSDAY, January 29:]]

Maintaining a band that resides in 3 states is hard — but not too hard for Clouder (Jim Wood, SZ #19) — and now they're back in New York to play with Jim's other band, Crazy Pills (Amanda B., SZ #09) w/ Gunfight! and Mount Sharp at Bar Matchless, 8pm, $8 LINK

Crazy Pills

This event promises bands, booze, and booty — so clearly, you should check it out. Oh, and there are some killer bands on the bill when Big Booty Judy presents Haybaby (Jeremy Duvall, SZ #17) w/ Honduras, Shark Week, David Milone (Radio 4) at Bowery Electric, 8pm, $10 LINK

[[FRIDAY, January 30:]]

We're very excited for our friends over at Slackgaze (Win Scarlett, SZ #18), who are celebrating the release of their new zine w/ Vagabon, OSHUN, Ajo, Xhosa, Taylor Simone, Isis Swaby at Nola Darling, 7pm, $5 LINK

You looking to get your feet moving? You looking for sing along songs? Look no further than Friday night with Sunset Guns (Jon Mann and Derek Hawkins, SZ #10) w/ Bad New Ones, Shelter Dogs, Immaculate Corpses at Cake Shop, 8pm, $7 LINK

You want all the fun that you can get at any other show tonight BUT ALSO you want to go bowling? Man, you're asking a lot. Luckily, our friends can deliver, because we just interviewed Jamie Frey of NO ICE, too (episode forthcoming). Check them out w/ Rad Dreams, Plates of Cake, Dead Painters at The Gutter, 8:45pm, $5 LINK

[[SATURDAY, January 30:]]

Saturday night! Brooklyn Night Bazaar! Go for The Teen Age (Nick Brooks, SZ #17), but stay for Shark Week, Lazyeyes, Crocodiles, 9pm, FREE LINK

The Teen Age

Also, get wasted and slack off with The Fucktons (Greg Hanson and Seth Applebaum, SZ #20), because with them, every night is Spring Break w/ iVamanos!, The Privies, Loose Cannon at Don Pedro, 7:30pm, $5 LINK

Or, El Goodo presents their second showcase with a night to celebrate that we're alive, and they're bringing Polyon (Ryan McLaughlin, SZ #7) w/ Bad Look, Kerbivore, Beach Craft Bonanza, OxenFree, Night Screams at Muchmore's, 8:00pm, $5 LINK

To prepare for the madness, make sure you check out this week's Picture Dump. That'll get your mouth watering. While you're at it, Jon was interviewed by Street wannabes, where he said a lot of awesome things about bands, friends, and making bands with friends and making friends with bands, and being generally awesome, as he is. Check that out right here.

We'll catch you on the dance floor.
